The vessel’s size, transport capacity and support capability are well suited to the roles the Coast Guard is required to play abroad.
The ship is equipped with facilities enabling her to support operations such as relief missions and act as a mobile logistic support unit for task forces required to operate outside the Mediterranean Sea. 
The vessel's lenght is 52 m and the maximum speed is over 31 knots.
Six units have been built for Italian Coast Guard: CP 901 (Saettia), CP 902 (Diciotti), CP 903 (Dattilo), CP 904 (Fiorillo),
CP 905 (Peluso), CP 906 (Corsi).
