FINCANTIERI SIGNS A PRESTIGIOUS ORDER FOR A 140m YACHT
Fincantieri has signed a contract for the construction of a seven- deck motor yacht of 140 meters in length. The vessel will be identified as “Hull # 6218”. This is the first order for a yacht longer than 80meters signed after the beginning of the financial crisis in October 2008.

PRESENTATION OF THE NEW MUSEUM CENTRE IN THE PORT Where the submarine “Fecia di Cossato” is going to be musealized
Today in Trieste there was the presentation of the project for a new Museum Centre as part of the restyling of the Old Port.
Present at the press conference were the Chairman of the Port Authority, Claudio Boniciolli, the Chairman of the Institute of Maritime-Port Culture of Trieste, Aldo Cuomo, the Managing Director of the "Leonardo da Vinci" Foundation, the National Museum of Science and Technology, Milan, Fiorenzo Galli, the Director of Corporate Studies and Strategies of Fincantieri, Piercipriano Rollo, and the Director of Fincantieri Foundation, Mauro Martinenzi.

FINCANTIERI: DOUBLE DELIVERY IN MUGGIANO
The Iraqi Navy takes delivery of the last two of four patrol vessels

Today at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Muggiano (La Spezia) there was the delivery ceremony for the last two of four patrol vessels ordered by the Iraqi Navy from Fincantieri. The contract also comprises the provision of logistical support and crew training for each vessel.

Fincantieri presents Silver Spirit, the sixth ship for Silversea Cruises fleet
Today there was the presentation at Ancona shipyard of the Silver Spirit, the new cruise ship ordered from Fincantieri by Silversea Cruises, the world leader in the luxury cruise segment.
Present at the ceremony were the Chairman of Silversea Cruises Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, while Fincantieri was represented by the Chairman, Corrado Antonini, and the Chief Executive Officer Giuseppe Bono.

FINCANTIERI: CONSTRUCTION STARTS ON NEW SUBMARINE FOR THE ITALIAN NAVY
Today at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Muggiano there was the ceremony to celebrate the cutting of the first sheeting – marking the start-up of construction of the first of the second pair of class U212A “Todaro” submarines, ordered by the Central Unit for Naval Armament – NAVARM for the Italian Navy. Scheduled for delivery in 2015 and 2016 the Navy has earmarked these vessels to replace the “Prini” and the “Pelosi” submarines (“Sauro” classe– third series), built at the end of the 1980s.

AGREEMENT WITH CARNIVAL FOR MAXI CRUISE SHIP
The US group Carnival Corporation & plc and Fincantieri have reached an agreement to build a 3,690-passenger, 130,000-ton cruise ship for the brand Carnival Cruise Lines. The ship, which has been developed from the “Carnival Dream”, delivered last September, will be built at Monfalcone shipyard and is scheduled to enter service in spring 2012.

ABB and Fincantieri partner to reduce C/O2 emissions
Onshore electricity connections can significantly reduce pollution from ships’ emissions in port

Zurich/Trieste, 5 November 2009 – ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, and Fincantieri, the Italian merchant and naval shipbuilder, have signed an agreement to collaborate on the construction, marketing and supply of high-voltage shore connection (HVSC) systems to provide electricity to vessels in port.

“LE BOREAL” LAUNCHED IN ANCONA SUPER LUXURY SHIP FOR COMPAGNIE DU PONANT
Today at Ancona shipyard there was the launch of “Le Boreal”, the first of two super luxury cruise ships ordered from Fincantieri by the French owner Compagnie du Ponant. Due to take up service in spring 2010, in terms of size and sophisticated décor in many respects the ship is very similar to a mega yacht.

DOUBLE ORDER FROM INDIA AND U.A.E. FOR FINCANTIERI
Fincantieri has gained new important orders from foreign navies: a corvette for the United Arab Emirates Navy of and a fleet tanker for the Indian Navy. The vessels, worth 250 million Euros, will be built at Fincantieri’s Italian shipyards.

Officially constituted Seastema S.p.A., the new company set up under the equally owned joint venture between Fincantieri and ABB. FINCANTIERI: KEEL LAYING OF THE QUEEN ELIZABETH, PASSENGER SHIP FOR CUNARD LINE
Today at Monfalcone shipyard there was the keel laying of the passenger ship the Queen Elizabeth, ordered by Carnival group for the British shipowner, Cunard Line. Following the Queen Victoria, built at MarGhera shipyard in 2007, the delivery of the new passenger vessel is scheduled for autumn 2010.

THE “AZURA” LAUNCHED AT MONFALCONE
Today there was the launch at Monfalcone shipyard of a new passenger ship built by Fincantieri for the British market: the Azura, destined to become the new flagship of P&O Cruises, a brand in the Carnival Group, the world’s leading cruise operator. Sister to the Ventura which was delivered last year at the same Monfalcone shipyard, the Azura will take to the seas in spring 2010.

Built by Fincantieri in Italy, the Costa Pacifica is the second of 2 new ships to be delivered to the Italian company in less than 1 month. MIP, the School of Management at the Polytechnic University of Milan presented a study on the occasion of the ship delivery: in 2008 Costa Cruises generated €1.1 billion in economic benefits in Italy.

FINCANTIERI AND BOEING TEAM UP FOR US NAVY HOVERCRAFT FLEET
Washington – Trieste, May 4 2009. Fincantieri and the leading aerospace company Boeing have teamed up in a bid to capture the contract to build the new hovercraft fleet for the US Navy which will be awarded under the Sea Base-to-Shore Connector (SSC) program. The agreement was announced today in Washington on the occasion of the opening of the “Navy League Sea-Air-Space Exposition”, the world’s most important fair for the marine defense sector.

The Italian Navy takes delivery of the frigate “Caio Duilio”
Today there was the ceremony at Fincantieri’s Muggiano (La Spezia) shipyard to mark the handover to the Italian Navy of the frigate “Caio Duilio” which had been launched in October 2007 a Riva Trigoso.
The handover follows intensive sea trials and there will be further testing of the communication, command and control systems so that the “Caio Duilio” may become fully operational.

FINCANTIERI TO BUILD ’ “USS FORT WORTH”, THE NEXT SHIP FOR THE US NAVY
The consortium led by Lockheed Martin, of which Fincantieri is a member, has been awarded an order by the US Navy to build “USS Fort Worth”, named after the town in Texas. This further vessel in the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) program will be built by Fincantieri Marine Group at the shipyard of Marinette Marine Corporation (Marinette, Wisconsin) which delivered the first ship in the program, the “USS Freedom”, in September 2008.

FINCANTIERI: BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVED 2008 RESULTS POSTING A POSITIVE PERFORMANCE DESPITE THE GLOBAL ECONOMIC DOWNTURN; DIVIDENDS CONFIRMED, IN LINE WITH PREVIOUS YEARS.
 Revenues grew vs. 2007 (+8%), reaching a new record of 2,932 Euro/million because of the high orders intake in the past years;
 EBITDA amounted to 134 Euro/million;
 Profit before Tax and Net Income both positive, amounting to 43 and 10 Euro/million respectively;
 New orders for 2.5 Euro/billion and order book at 10.8 Euro/billion vs. the record level of 12 Euro/billion reached in 2007. Current order book does not ensure saturation of the production capacity of all Group’s plants;

THE COSTA DELIZIOSA COMPLETES HER TECHNICAL LAUNCH AT THE MARGHERA YARDS: TO BE DELIVERED AT THE END OF JANUARY 2010, SHE IS THE THIRD SHIP BUILT BY FINCANTIERI FOR COSTA CRUISES IN LESS THAN 1YEAR
The Costa Deliziosa will be delivered at the end of January 2010. The Costa Luminosa and the Costa Pacifica, also built by Fincantieri, and that recently successfully completed their sea trials, will be delivered at the end of April and the end of May 2009.
The Costa Deliziosa and the Costa Luminosa will be the fleet’s “flagships”, the most exclusive and innovative vessels designed for Costa’s top clientele.
Costa Cruises is the company with the world’s largest fleet expansion plan, with 5 new ships to be delivered by 2012.

LUXURY SHIP “SILVER SPIRIT” LAUNCHED IN ANCONA
Today at Ancona shipyard there was the launch of the “Silver Spirit”, the first luxury cruise ship ordered from Fincantieri by Silversea Group, one of the leading players in luxury cruises. The launch marks Fincantieri’s entry into the market sector for medium-size luxury ships.
With the construction of this vessel, due to enter service at the end of the year, Ancona shipyard becomes the fourth Fincantieri yard devoted to building this type of ship, alongside Monfalcone, Marghera and Genoa-Sestri Ponente.

“UOS ATLANTIS” DELIVERED: FIRST OF 12 SUPPLY VESSELS FOR HARTMANN
Today at Muggiano (La Spezia) shipyard there was the delivery of the “UOS Atlantis” the first of 12 multi-purpose AHTS ships (Anchor Handling, Towing & Supply), ordered from Fincantieri in March 2007 by the German owner, Hartmann Logistik GmbH (Hartmann Reederei Group). The remaining 11 vessels – which will be built at the shipyards of Riva Trigoso, Muggiano and Palermo - will be delivered by mid-2010.

FINCANTIERI and ABB announce joint venture for marine automation systems
Fincantieri – Cantieri Navali Italiani S.p.A. and ABB S.p.A. have signed an agreement to create an equally owned joint venture in Italy for the design, development, and delivery of marine integrated automation systems for the naval, cruise, ferry and megayacht markets. FINCANTIERI MARINE GROUP ESTABLISHED TO OPERATE IN THE U.S. MARKET. FINCANTIERI COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF MANITOWOC MARINE GROUP

Fincantieri – Cantieri Navali Italiani S.p.A. announced today it has successfully completed the acquisition of Manitowoc Marine Group from its parent company The Manitowoc Company, Inc. [NYSE: MTW], following all the required regulatory approvals.

Announced in August 2008, the transaction includes the participation of Lockheed Martin Corporation [NYSE: LMT] as a minority investor. The entire transaction is valued at approx. USD 120 Million.
