Tuesday 24 April 2018, Adelaide - Fincantieri Australia today welcomed the Australian Government's Defence Industrial Capability Plan and has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the industry.

Fincantieri Australia's Chairman, Mr Dario Deste said: "Fincantieri has a comprehensive plan to deliver the Commonwealth Government's strategic objectives. We are committed to transferring technology to design, build ships, and the equipment within Australia, to create an export market.

"Fincantieri is already at work delivering on our commitments, we are manufacturing ship thrusters and cruise ship blocks with Australian industry for export. We plan to build an advanced mechanical equipment integration facility in Adelaide and by listing our business here on the Australian Stock Exchange, decisions will be made from Adelaide and we will be accountable to Australian investors. If selected for SEA 5000 the first training programs for Australians will commence in 2018 in Italy," Mr. Deste said.
