Doers On Board

Fincantieri took part in Barcolana 57, the world’s largest sailing regatta, bringing its values and identity to the sea. More than just a competition, it was a shared experience that united our people under a single sail, in the heart of our city, Trieste.

At its debut participation, the DOERS on Board crew – made up entirely of colleagues from different Group sites – achieved an extraordinary result: 12th place out of more than 1,850 boats. This success demonstrates how team spirit, passion, and determination are the key to tackling even the most competitive challenges.

Behind this achievement lie commitment, preparation, and the willingness to take on new challenges together, sharing a common goal and facing every condition – both at sea and at work – with the same mindset that guides Fincantieri every day.

Taking part in the Barcolana was especially meaningful for us: not only because Trieste is a symbolic city for the Group, but also because the regatta gave us the opportunity to live and express our values through sport.
Loyalty, inclusion, collaboration, and innovation are the guiding principles that steer our daily actions, both within the company and on board.

The “DOERS on Board” project was created in this very spirit: to give space to the sailing talent that lives and works within Fincantieri, enhancing skills, passion, and a strong sense of belonging. We received 150 applications from colleagues with competitive sailing experience, selected 30 of them, and together we built a dream that has now become reality: second place in the Barcolana Maxi and 12th place in the main regatta among more than 1,850 boats.

“DOERS on Board” is not just a boat, but a project of motivation, training, and team building that will continue to represent Fincantieri’s culture and values at sea. The initiative is part of the Group’s broader internal development program, aimed at promoting collaboration, distributed leadership, and the enhancement of people as a cornerstone of the company’s growth.

A special thanks goes to the entire DOERS on Board crew, who have best represented Fincantieri’s identity and spirit, bringing to sea not only a boat but a shared vision.
