At Fincantieri, safety is a shared value, a collective responsibility and a right for everyone.
That’s why we encourage listening, participation and individual responsibility, creating spaces and opportunities for ongoing dialogue. From Safety Breaks in the shipyards to Perceptions Alignment meetings, and Injury Commissions with shared analysis of events, every initiative is designed to value the experience of those who live the work on the ground every day. Our goal is clear: zero accidents, every day, in every shipyard. And we know we can achieve it only through everyone’s concrete commitment.
Behind every figure there is a safer environment, a more aware person,
one less risk. Our commitment follows three fundamental directions:
In 2023 we launched the Safety Strengthening Plan, which continues in 2024 with increasingly widespread and inclusive actions. The Plan aims to make safety a shared responsibility, an integral part of the company culture.
Driving this vision was the Zero Accidents Future On Board – #SAFETYONBOARD campaign, launched on 28 April 2023, on the occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. Through posters in the shipyards, visual content and experiential activities, the campaign aims to keep attention high in the workplace, promoting conscious and responsible behaviors. A clear and direct message: safety is everyone’s right, but also a daily commitment.
In Romania, at the Braila and Tulcea shipyards, joint Safety Committees are active, composed of company and worker representatives. They meet at least four times a year to approve the HSE Program, which includes shared objectives, responsibilities, and deadlines.
To make data management and activity monitoring more effective, we are also extending the new HSE Portal, already operational in Romania, to the entire Group.
A centralized digital system that will improve reporting, communication and sharing of information on health, safety and environment, making our commitment increasingly integrated and transparent.
Our daily commitment to safety is based on the Health, Safety, Environment and Energy Policy an integral part of the Group’s sustainability strategy.
This document guides choices, sets measurable objectives and directs the actions of people and suppliers in all the countries where we operate.
Because making work safer is not just a duty: it is a responsibility that starts from the top and translates into concrete actions.
