Le Bougainville is the third ship of the Explorer class delivered to Ponant Cruises.
Each member of the class has been named after a famous French explorer, and Le Bougainville takes her name from Louis Antoine de Bougainville, a French admiral and explorer.
Her hull was built at the VARD shipyard in Tulcea, Romania, and outfitting took place at the Søviknes facility in Ålesund, Norway.
