For the fourth consecutive year, we have been evaluated by Sustainalytics, a Morningstar company specializing in assessing how effectively companies manage Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risks. As of May 2025, our updated score is 13.8 points, placing us in the “Low Risk” category (scale: 0 is best, >40 is worst). We ranked 3rd out of 133 in the Heavy Machinery and Trucks sub-category, and 4th out of 570 companies in the Machinery basket. Furthermore, in 2025, continuing from 2024, we were included in the prestigious "Top-Rated ESG Companies" list, highlighting our outstanding performance.

Rating: 60/100

Since 2021, we have participated in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), S&P Global’s ESG questionnaire. For the 2024 CSA, in April 2025 we achieved a score of 60/100, assessed within the "IEQ Machinery and Electrical Equipment" basket, marking an improvement compared to the 59/100 recorded in the 2023 CSA.

Rating: Top performer

In 2024, we confirmed our position among the “Top Performer” companies according to the Integrated Governance Index (IGI), promoted by EticaNews. Now in its ninth edition, the index is based on a questionnaire sent to leading Italian companies and measures the degree of integration of ESG factors into corporate governance and identity. This year’s edition included 93 companies. We took a further step forward, moving from “Leader” to “Top Performer” and ranking first in the “Industry” category.

For the sixth consecutive year, we have been recognized by Universum as one of the “Most Attractive Employers” in Italy.

The Universum ranking, by a leading Employer Branding research company, identifies the most attractive employers for students and young professionals, asking them which characteristics are most relevant and distinctive in choosing a potential employer.

In both the student and young professional rankings, as Fincantieri S.p.A. we placed among the top 50 companies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines, and among the top 100 in the Business/Economics category, further strengthening our leadership ahead of many industrial players.

For the fourth consecutive year, we have received the Top Employers Italia 2025 certification from the Top Employers Institute, the official recognition of corporate excellence in HR policies and strategies, and their implementation to contribute to people’s well-being, improve the working environment, and the world of work. The Top Employers certification is awarded to companies that meet the high standards required by the HR Best Practices Survey. The Survey covers 6 HR macro-areas, examining and analyzing in depth 20 different topics and their respective best practices, including People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Wellbeing, and many others. The improvement in our results at Fincantieri over the years confirms our growing attention to listening and engaging with people, our constant commitment to fostering an increasingly inclusive work environment, and our ability to attract talent and invest in employee training and development.

Financial Statements Oscar

We received the Financial Statements Oscar 2024 in the Listed Large Companies category during the 60th edition of the event promoted by FERPI, in collaboration with Borsa Italiana and Bocconi University.

The jury acknowledged the distinctive value of the clear and in-depth presentation of ESG topics, in harmony with the objectives outlined in the 2030 Agenda. The financial statement was notable for its transparency, thorough risk analysis, and the integration of strategies aimed at structured and effective communication.

This prestigious recognition, awarded for the third time after the 2020 and 2022 editions, further highlights Fincantieri’s commitment to sustainability, already recognized in the past with the “Special Award for the Sustainability Report.”

Human Enterprise Award 2025
We were awarded the Human Enterprise Award 2025, a recognition given by Economy Group in partnership with Pane Quotidiano. The award highlights our commitment to social sustainability initiatives, aimed at promoting protection, inclusion, and the development of people and communities, as outlined in the 2023-2027 Sustainability Plan.
SDGs LEADERs
At the SDGs Leaders Summit 2024, we received a prestigious recognition in the procurement community thanks to the PartnerShip project, a program focused on the development of the supply chain during the sustainable transition. This award confirms Fincantieri Group’s commitment to sustainability throughout the supply chain and adds to the recognition given to our CEO, Pierroberto Folgiero, who was awarded in the “Social Impact” category of the CEOforLIFE Awards.
Jojob awards 2025

We were nationally recognized among the top ten companies for the use of carpooling services in 2024, offered by JojobRT. In particular, we achieved notable results in several categories:

  • 3rd place for commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
  • 3rd place for the number of users registered in our company community
  • 4th place for kilometers saved thanks to carpooling
  • 4th place for the number of active users in carpooling services


This recognition rewards our commitment to promoting more sustainable, participatory, and environmentally conscious mobility.

In 2024, in line with previous years, the Shipbuilders Council of America (SCA) presented awards to companies that distinguished themselves in operational improvement, safety promotion, and accident prevention.

The awards given include:

  • Excellence in Safety Award: granted to companies that had no fatal incidents during the year, regularly submit quarterly workplace safety reports, and have an annual average Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) below the SCA-calculated average
  • Improvement in Safety Award: reserved for companies that have reduced their annual TRIR by 10% or more compared to the previous year, as evidenced by complete quarterly reports sent to SCA
  • Significance in Safety Award: awarded to shipyards that had no fatalities and maintained a TRIR below 1.0 during the year
