The Board of Directors of Fincantieri, which met today in Rome, approved the annual accounts for the operating year 2003 which recorded net profit of 90.7 million Euro compared to 76.9 million Euro of the previous year (+ 17.9%).
Fincantieri Group results have also improved considerably: production value, at 2,342.8 million Euro, is up 7.1%; the operating result, at approximately 122.0 million Euro, is equivalent to 5.2% of production value; net profit, at 93.1 million Euro is up 16%. Moreover, liquid assets and net financial credits stand at 113.5 million Euro compared to 74.8 for the previous year, confirming the generation of a positive cash flow.
During the course of 2003 fourteen ships were delivered to different customers, always in accordance with the schedules agreed.
The current workload – on the basis of orders acquired in 2003 and early 2004, thanks to a marketing drive during the course of the previous year – is approximately 5,000 million Euro.
The Board expressed great satisfaction not only for the company’s best ever economic result, but also for further consolidation of the industrial targets reached in the course of actions undertaken to improve efficiency and competitiveness.
