Britannia
P&O Cruises
Another milestone in Italian shipbuilding history
Britannia was built in the Fincantieri yard at Monfalcone. Delivered in 2015, she is the largest cruise ship that we have ever made for P&O Cruises. This major project further cements the partnership between the two groups, a ship built for a particularly sophisticated clientele in a market – the United Kingdom – that is one of the most active and refined in the world.
Launch of Britannia
Britannia - British Style, Italian Heart
A ship that anticipates the needs of the future, in every way
Britannia is the first ship delivered for P&O Cruises with the new livery of blue funnels and a stylized 97-metre-long Union Jack on the bow. She is the first cruise ship built at Monfalcone with two funnels. She has 15 passenger decks, 13 bars, 13 restaurants, a 936-seat theatre, 4 pools and a priceless art collection.
Britannia is an innovative member of a forward-looking class of ships. She is notable first and foremost for her new and future-proof design approach – not only because of her advanced performance and layout but also because she complies with all the latest regulations for large cruise ships, not least through her “Safe return to port” safety system.
It all goes to make this unit a new technological landmark in Europe and worldwide for her superb performance and high-quality technical solutions.
