Utnefjord was delivered to Boreal by Vard Langsten in March 2020. The ferry is designed with a strong focus on sustainability, being a plug-in hybrid with two SeaQ® Energy Storage systems installed. The ferry operates in fully electric mode but has diesel generators as backup.
