The MPCS is fitted with a modern Combat Management System integrates state of the art fixed face dual band C/X radars for resilient long-range surveillance, precise tracking, and robust fire control and Counter drone Radar. The architecture enhances defense against Tactical Ballistic Missiles, while upgraded Electronic Warfare, artillery, and missile systems deliver decisive eects. An innovative radar suite, sonar suite, advanced communications, and tactical data links ensure the highest levels of interoperability with allied forces. The MPCS extends the operative scenario awareness with integrated aviation and unmanned systems. The hangar and a large flight deck support two medium helicopters and drone operations, expanding ISR, time reduction for target classification, and ASW coverage. Mission facilities include an 11 m RHIB or USV and a 7 m RHIB for boarding, security, and littoral tasks. The MPCS design includes two modular areas (one amidships and one astern, below the flight deck) capable to receive the so-called “additional mission modules”. If necessary, they allow adapting the ships, e.g.:

• to carry out humanitarian missions and provide assistance during natural disasters (by assembling HADR modules - Humanitarian Aids and Disaster Relief);
• to carry out operations with unmanned systems (by assembling modules with surface and underwater vehicles)
• to support special forces operations (through the installation of RHIB’s and specialized commando equipment).

All these modular features make the PPA operationally flexible, so it can be tailored to a wide variety of missions.
