Sustainability Committee

The Sustainability Committee, established in 2016 as part of Fincantieri’s Board of Directors, is composed of 4 members and is responsible for supporting, through preparatory, advisory, and propositional activities, the Board’s evaluations and decisions on sustainability matters related to our activities and stakeholder interactions. In particular, the Committee supports the Board on issues such as respect for and promotion of human rights, labour rights, environment, transparency, anti-corruption, health and safety in business activities, stakeholder rights, product responsibility, and innovation.

To coordinate sustainability-related aspects, we established the Sustainability unit, which reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The unit manages all sustainability activities, ensures commitments are met, monitors project progress and the achievement of sustainability objectives, and keeps the Sustainability Committee regularly informed.

To support the drafting of the Consolidated Sustainability Statement and to define objectives, targets, and timelines, we also set up a cross-functional Working Group, coordinated by the Sustainability unit. For the collection and management of DCS-related information by foreign subsidiaries, we have identified local project managers who liaise directly with the Sustainability unit and/or the Working Group.
