Fincantieri to provide a support vessel to the Italian Navy

High operational versatility, including underwater operations

Fincantieri, through its Underwater Technology Hub, will supply the Italian Navy with a supply vessel, designed to deliver maximum operational versatility, including underwater operations. The vessel’s configuration and available spaces allow it to be adapted for multiple operational roles, ensuring flexibility and rapid reconfiguration based on mission needs.  

The unit will undergo refitting at the Group’s shipyard in Palermo, with the aim of transforming it into a technologically advanced platform fully integrated within the national capability system. This project is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Italy’s presence in the increasingly strategic maritime domain through modular and scalable solutions.

Fincantieri is moving toward the role of orchestrator of highly complex technologies, capable of operating from surface to seabed, from hardware to software. This initiative confirms the Group’s commitment to consolidating its leadership in naval innovation by developing technologies that combine flexibility, security, and interoperability, while enhancing its ability to respond swiftly and in an integrated manner to national system requirements, with an industrial vision focused on technological sovereignty and innovation.
