The purpose of the vessel is the transportation of Spent Nuclear Fuel (SNF) and Radioactive Waste (RW), primarily using TK-18 containers, but also other types of packaging, including 20-foot ISO containers. Transport takes place from bases and shipyards to reload points for transfer to rail.

The vessel is designed according to the strictest international regulations and complies with the International Code for the Safe Carriage of Irradiated Nuclear Fuel, Plutonium and High-Level Radioactive Wastes in Packages on Board Ships (INF Code).
