On 10 and 11 February, respectively at the Fincantieri shipyard in Riva Trigoso and Muggiano, ceremonies were held to award certificates of attendance for the Italian language courses promoted by Fondazione Fincantieri in collaboration with the Società Dante Alighieri. The initiative, launched last October, is dedicated to foreign workers employed by subcontracting companies and involved four classes, two at each facility.

The event was attended, for Società Dante Alighieri, by Lorenzo Rocca, Project Manager, and for Fincantieri by Antonio Quintano, Director of the Integrated Shipyard of Muggiano and Riva Trigoso, Elena Signorastri, HR Manager of the two facilities, and Elisa Saccenti, Head of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Employee Engagement and Welfare of the Group.

During the ceremonies, 30 certificates were awarded to participants who completed the training program, which lasted a total of 50 hours. The program was structured by homogeneous levels and focused on strengthening language skills that are functional not only within the shipyard environment but also as a tool for inclusion beyond the workplace. The courses aim to promote effective communication, greater awareness of safety regulations, and a stronger integration process in everyday life as well.

Since 2024, Fincantieri has promoted a total of 26 Italian language courses, amounting to 1,300 hours of training, at the Monfalcone, Sestri, Marghera, Ancona, Riva Trigoso and Muggiano facilities, involving more than 400 people. The initiative is part of the Group’s everyDEI program, aimed at promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.

Luciano Sale, Fincantieri’s Director Human Resources and Real Estate, stated: “These training programs are a tangible sign of our attention to people and our commitment to building an increasingly inclusive and safe working environment. Language training is a fundamental tool to strengthen integration, awareness and sense of belonging, generating lasting value for the entire organization.”

The Integrated Shipyard of Riva Trigoso–Muggiano represents one of Fincantieri’s main industrial hubs for the construction of highly complex military vessels, thanks to the synergy between two historic sites within the Naval Vessels Division. Riva Trigoso specializes in the keel laying and launching phases, with a workforce of approximately 1,300 people, including more than 800 direct Fincantieri employees. Muggiano is internationally recognized for the design and construction of submarines and the development of advanced naval programs, employing approximately 1,600 people on a daily basis, including more than 600 direct employees. Together, the two facilities form a centre of excellence for Italian and international shipbuilding.
