Born in Grosseto in 1964, he graduated in Law and subsequently qualified as a lawyer.
He began his career at Saipem S.p.A., where from September 1992 to October 1998 he was a member of the legal department and corporate secretariat, responsible for Legal Contract Assistance in Italy and Head of the Insurance Office.
From October 1998 to July 2000, he was part of the legal department and corporate secretariat at Edison S.p.A., where he was responsible for legal support for new initiatives, project development through project financing, M&A activities, and legal assistance to the corporate secretariat.
From August 2000 to June 2006, he served as Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs at Shell Italia S.p.A., where he was tasked with establishing the legal department and corporate secretariat for the Shell Group in Italy, providing legal support for the countries of the former Yugoslavia, and overseeing compliance activities.
From July 2006 to July 2010, he was Senior Legal Counsel at Shell International in The Hague, where he was responsible for coordinating and providing legal assistance for Central and Eastern European countries in Gas & Power activities. He also served on the Boards of Directors of the company’s strategic joint ventures.
From August 2010 to August 2014, he was Director of Legal, Corporate Affairs, and Compliance at Shell Italia S.p.A. and for countries of the former Yugoslavia. He was also a permanent member of the Country Coordination Team and served on the Boards of Directors of Shell companies and strategic joint ventures in Italy and the former Yugoslav countries.
From September 2014 to April 2019, he was Director of Legal, IP, and Compliance at Fendi S.r.l. He was a member of the Executive Committee and various strategic committees guiding the company. He established the Corporate Affairs group for relations with institutions and associations.
From May 2019 to March 2024, he served as Director of Privacy, Ethics, and Compliance at the LVMH Group, based in Paris.
Since March 2024, he is a Director at the LVMH Group, responsible for sustainability directives, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Social Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) for the Group.
He has taught numerous legal courses, served as President of ECLA (European Company Lawyers Association), and has been a member of the General Council and Executive Committee of AIGI (Italian Association of Corporate Lawyers).
He has also been a founding partner and board member of several innovative start-ups.
