Gender Equality Certification from RINA

Fincantieri Becomes the First Naval Engineering Group to Obtain RINA Certification

RINA has assessed 33 parameters, including corporate culture, training, growth opportunities for women, pay equity, and has awarded Fincantieri the prestigious UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality Certification, reaffirming its consistent commitment to a more inclusive and sustainable work environment.

Certification for Inclusion and Gender Equality

Inclusion has always been a central pillar of Fincantieri's corporate culture. It is an essential element for an organization that prides itself on innovation and cross-fertilization of skills, recognized both internally and externally. Following a rigorous evaluation process that considered 33 parameters, including corporate culture, training, growth opportunities for women, pay equity, as well as initiatives for parenthood and work-life balance, the Group has achieved the prestigious UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality Certification from RINA. This recognition, the first of its kind in the naval engineering sector, underscores Fincantieri's dedication to a fair and inclusive workplace.

Commitment to Sustainability and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

The priorities set by the Group in terms of diversity and inclusion are an integral part of Fincantieri's 2023-2027 Sustainability Plan, illustrating the Group's commitment from a social and environmental perspective. This is firmly rooted in the belief that the evolution of production processes, product quality, and technology at Fincantieri also depend on these issues. The company thus reaffirms its commitment to achieving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reflecting its dedication not only to the environment but also to social progress.

Female Presence and Leadership

In this context, gender equality can add significant value. In 2023, Fincantieri exceeded its target with a female presence of 34% in its "Talent" program, aimed at developing the professional skills of young individuals and shaping future leaders. This progress further demonstrates that gender equality is not only an ethical value but also a crucial factor for business success.

Recognitions and Ongoing Commitment

Fincantieri's initiatives in the field of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are broad and diverse, ranging from raising awareness about biases and stereotypes to adopting inclusive language and leadership. The recent certification from RINA is a recognition of Fincantieri's ongoing commitment in these areas. Adherence to the principles of women's empowerment and diversity enhancement, as outlined by UN Women's Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEP) and Global Compact, confirms the company's commitment to an increasingly inclusive and equal culture.

Towards a Future of Equality and Sustainability

Fincantieri is committed to a future where equality and sustainability are at the core of corporate life, where every individual can find space and recognition. With numerous recognitions already achieved, the company looks forward to a future of continuous inclusive and sustainable growth.

"The RINA certification is not a destination but an important milestone that motivates us to continue working in the right direction."
