Various organizations, entities, and rating agencies certified the results achieved by the Group in 2023, thanks to an extremely virtuous and effective approach to ESG issues.
The A- Rating by CDP
For the fourth consecutive year, CDP, a non-profit organization that assesses the management of risks and opportunities related to climate change, awarded Fincantieri an A- rating. For this analysis, CDP adhered to the recommendations of the Task Force for Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and international sustainability standards. Fincantieri is in CDP's Leadership category with a score well above the European average.
Sustainalytics Ranking
Fincantieri ranked third out of 140 companies in the Heavy Machinery and Trucks sub-category and tenth out of 617 in the Machinery category in the Sustainalytics ranking (last updated May 2024). This agency evaluates companies based on the ESG Risk Rating, which measures exposure to environmental, social, and governance risks and how they are managed. The Group was thus included in the prestigious list of Top-Rated ESG Companies.
Moody's ESG Solutions
Moody's ESG Solutions recognized Fincantieri's commitment to proposing virtuous corporate policies and action plans for the fourth consecutive year, placing the naval giant in the Advanced category of its famous annual evaluation.
EticaNews's Identity Corporate Index
In the 2024 ESG Identity Corporate Index (ICI) research—formerly the Integrated Governance Index (IGI)—promoted by EticaNews, which measures the degree of integration of ESG factors into governance and corporate identity, Fincantieri advanced from Leader to Top Performer, ranking first in the "Industry" category.
Most Attractive Employers
For the fifth consecutive year, Fincantieri was recognized as one of Italy's Most Attractive Employers by Universum, a company specializing in certifying the most attractive companies for students and professionals. Fincantieri is among the top 50 companies preferred by students and young professionals in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and among the top 100 in the Humanities, Liberal Arts, Education, and Business categories.
Top Employer Italia 2024
The Top Employers Institute awarded Fincantieri the Top Employer Italia 2024 certification, recognizing excellence in HR policies and strategies, and policies aimed at improving employee well-being and the working environment. This certification is awarded to companies that meet the high standards defined by the HR Best Practices Survey, which analyzes six macro-areas and twenty topics related to human resources.
Excellence in Safety Award
The Shipbuilders Council of America (SCA) awarded Fincantieri Marinette Marine the prestigious Excellence in Safety Award for its constant commitment to promoting safety and preventing accidents. To be eligible for this award, companies must submit the SCA Injury & Illness survey for all four quarters, not have recorded any fatal accidents, and have maintained a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) below the SCA average or reduced it by ten percent or more compared to the previous year.
