Fincantieri announces the signing of a collaboration agreement with Idea Prototipi srl aimed at ensuring the rapid integration of multipurpose portable cobotic solutions into the Group’s supply chain, with the goal of strengthening automation, digitalization, and sustainability in its production activities, while also fostering the creation of a highly innovative industrial ecosystem.

The agreement was signed by Claudio Cisilino, Executive Vice President Operations, Corporate Strategy & Innovation of Fincantieri, and Massimo Agostini, CEO of Idea Prototipi srl.

The multi-year agreement is a concrete step towards accelerating the adoption of new technological solutions within Fincantieri’s production processes, both in Italy and abroad. Thanks to the contribution of Idea Prototipi, a Friuli-based company at the forefront of developing integrated hardware and software solutions in the field of industrial robotics, the Group will be able to quickly integrate advanced solutions, adapting them to the specific needs of the shipbuilding sector, through a co-development process based on agility and flexibility.

This collaboration also confirms Fincantieri’s role as an enabler of shipyard-ready technology and a driver of development for the entire national industrial ecosystem. The Group makes available its solidity, scalability, and long-term vision to support and enhance smaller, yet highly innovative and agile companies. In this way, in addition to supporting the local area by bringing small businesses closer to the complexities of large multinational groups, Fincantieri acts as a promoter of their internationalization, offering concrete opportunities for access to global markets.

Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and Managing Director of Fincantieri, stated: “The national manufacturing industry has the opportunity to use new production technologies to extend and project our leadership into the future. Over the past three years, Fincantieri has invested in the robotization of shipbuilding processes with entrepreneurship and a pioneering spirit through a project we have called ‘shipyard innovation’. This agreement demonstrates that collaboration with the network of SMEs is the most effective way to accelerate the validation of new production technologies in the industrial shipbuilding sector, creating long-term value throughout the entire chain. I believe that Fincantieri can be a laboratory for the country on these issues. It is the beginning of a long journey, but we are very pleased with the encouraging results we are seeing every day in the field, thanks to the team of experts we have brought together to work alongside outstanding companies such as Idea Prototipi.”
